This song is based on reality; it actually happened the way I describe in the lyrics. The percussion in the song was made from scratch. I simply recorded the sounds of ice falling into a glass, a match being struck, a phone being dropped into the cradle and a knock at the door.

“Together Forever” with its gated percussion and solid ‘80s pop structure, brings to mind Phil Collins circa “Face Value”, had Genesis been a Louisiana jam band rather than a product of the English public school system. In other words, it’s got soul.

This song is suburban gospel. It's an elegant portrait of life and love in the real world. The success of this track is due to the simple production of John Nicole's voice. When he sings, he sings with something very few artists have: emotion.
Zack Daggy
An interesting blend of this echoing dance rhythm with a stark lyric straight out of a backwoods country lament. As the track ramps up to its middle, however, Nicole abruptly switches into a soaring pop-influenced chorus. Then, again working in contrast, a long, held note on the organ adds a funereal note to the tale of a love that has seemingly passed.

Beyond "Curacao Blues" this is my second favorite song of John Nicole - what a delightful production! It isn't just the song, but go see the video! What a hoot....who does this kind of stuff! Interesting instrumentation, lyrics, vocals, and video....lovin it!
