I think it was Natchez, cuz I caught a few snatches of signs we saw on the way.
We pulled off the highway on to some driveway, and that’s when we heard someone say:Hey boys, you’re in the right place, park over there and show us your face. We gotta a table inside so don’t be shy. We’s about to say grace. But then we saw your car lights shining deep in the mist of the night. And we knew deep down deep in our hearts that the time for sharin’ was right.
So we went down the stairs and brought up some chairs. Thank God the good Lord showed us the way. The harvest is done, let’s have some fun. We brought some Snap Dragons back in the wagon for you to make some Snap Dragon Stew just for you. Have you met my daughter, Sue? She cooked it for you.
Now this guy told his daughter had cooked it today. She knew our music and said you’re okay.
Now I don’t remember much from that crazy night except waking up next to Sue in the morning light and tasting that Snap Dragon Stew. Mmm… It taste so good, baby, Snap Dragon Stew. Whew…
[BREAK]
Down in Mississippi, man it’s all the rage. It tastes bitter at first, but gets sweeter with ageIt’s more than meal if you know what I mean. It’s like nothin’ you’ve eatin’ or nothin’ you’ve seen. It’s greasy and steamin’ and so damned juicy, too. Ya get what you need with Snap Dragon Stew.
Yes, you do…
Chorus: Snap Dragon Stew (Sue) – What would you do?
