[Instrumental Opening]

I know you know

It’s takin’ me a while to figure it out in my head but I did, I did

You know I know, baby, now we can be free

‘cause the truth is what matters to me

[Instrumental]

So I know now what you know now that we had a love that was so deep and so strong

Until something just went so horribly wrong

We never gonna get it back

I know, I know that now

You know I know and I guess somehow that I feel

We’re gonna be okay ‘cause I know you know

Look up there, baby

See the clouds flowing by in front of our eyes every day in our memories

Remember lying in that grove, that grove of trees

Just like it was yesterday, yesterday

But it’s all gone away and we say goodbye

I know you know, baby

You know everything that I feel

Everything I said and everything I wish that I said

I know I can’t take it back

I can’t change the way it all went down

Baby, I sure miss having you around

Oh baby, I know you know

And you know that I know

Baby, we just gotta go, I know

[Instrumental]

[Fade Out]

For some reason, this song feels like a song you’d hear during the last dance at a high school prom.  The lyrics, however, are not generally a high-school subject.   Instead, the story is about two people who know in their hearts that each is being unfaithful in their own way, but don’t say anything to each other.  They live with the status quo of betrayal because it’s easier than breaking up.

REVIEWS

This is a beautiful blues ballad. The saxophone in particular is sweet and smooth. It's the type of music you can melt into. This is a truly great song!

Zack Daggy

“I Know You Know” begins like a bawdy mid-1970s showstopper, with an over-the-top sax, before settling into uncomplicated balladry.

Nick DeRiso

Great Sax! The lyrics and vocals are great as well as the guitar licks. I felt myself floating and dancing and groovin...on any afternoon.
